Christmas Spice Cookies

These Christmas Spice Cookies were a delicious addition to the holiday baking season. Dorie's flavors are always on point and this recipe was no exception. Everyone enjoyed them.

I had a lot of trouble with the dough. I chilled for 3 plus hours, the dough was firm when I took it out but while I was cutting out my cookies the dough got soft fast. After 3 cookies, I could no longer get the cookies off without squishing the dough. I ended up going back and forth with chilling to get my cookies made. It was a really long process and one in which I do not want to repeat. This dough was too fussy for me but they tasted good and that is all that matters.

  2. Those look cute on the snowman plate! I also found the dough very difficult to work with- super sticky. We use it at least 2 more times throughout the book!

  5. I hear you loud and clear on the whole dough management deal. I am not sure I want to tackle it again but we loved the flavor so much that I probably will. Your cookies look so cute and delicious...I notice they are slightly darker on the edges as were mine and I have to say that was so good, it was like browned butter flavor and absolutely lovely. I just want to have one of yours right now. :-)

  6. These did taste good, didn't they, but I hear ya on the dough. I cut one tray and trashed the rest of the dough because I could not stand going back and forth.

  7. you are not the only person who had this dough problem it seems...in this case i will count myself lucky that my kitchen stays at approximately refrigerator temp all winter. haha. you cookies do look perfect to me, tho!

  8. I don't know why I didn't crack this book open when I was making my Christmas cookies this year. These sound yummy, but sorry about the sticky dough. Hope you had a terrific Christmas!!! Xo
